Like all those who cook frequently, the kitchen environment is one of the most important factors that can impact the quality of any chef’s work. With sufficient knowledge and experience about your needs while working, you can make the best choice.
As someone who chose cooking as my main profession, I have dealt with different types of countertops enough to be fully aware of their advantages and disadvantages.
These were the first types of countertops I worked with. Often, after a while, due to the fall of heavy objects or kids climbing on them, they would crack and we had to fill the gaps with stone adhesive. They also lacked a wide range of colors, limited to only one or two models. I never liked these countertops!
These usually have a seamless, beautiful, and elegant surface. After being introduced to the Iranian market, stone surfaces gradually fell out of favor and were replaced by these types of countertops.
However, if you use this type, you should pay attention to a few points: be careful with sharp and abrasive objects. These items might scratch the surface or peel off part of the coating. Dry any water or liquid spilled on the surface immediately, as these surfaces are not water-resistant and will swell over time. This is especially true around the sink, where the edges are sealed with aquarium adhesive to prevent water penetration. However, after a while, the adhesive that has been in constant contact with water loses its stickiness and peels off, requiring reapplication.
These types of countertops haven't been in the Iranian market for long. At first glance, their modern and attractive appearance draws your attention. Personally, I care a lot about kitchen design and color selection. The variety of designs and colors in Corian stone surfaces meets every type of taste and need.
But that's not all—durable surfaces with very easy repair capabilities, lightweight construction, and most importantly, easy cleaning properties, along with the elegant look they give to the kitchen, are some of the reasons why I almost always use these surfaces for kitchen countertops.
